Information note:
The Kluchevskaya group of volcanoes
The Kluchevskaya group of volcanoes is situated in the central part of the Kamchatka peninsula
in the understream of Kamchatka river, on its turn to the east.
The group concerns to the largest congestion of volcanic constructions in Kamchatka.
It is apparently caused by its structural position. It is situated on a joint of two island volcanic
arches - Kurilo-Kamchatskiy and Aleutian.
The total area of is 6,5 thousand km. There are 14 volcanos in this group.
The huge sizes of volcanoes, their rather dense congestion on the rather small area,
uniqueness and various displays of active processes
and the original character of its structure and the form of products
give to this group a great originality.
The volcanoes attract scientists, tourists, climbers.
The Kluchevskoy volcano -
- is one of the largest and highest volcanos of Asia and Europe.
The age of the volcano is about 7000 years. This stratovolcano represents the correct cone situated
on the right coast of the Kamchatka river.
Its slopes are covered with cracks, lava streams, and the top is covered with ice.
Frequently the eruptions occur not through the main crater, but through the collateral craters,
situated on the slopes of the volcano.
In 1978 the height of Kluchevskoy volcano reached 4750 m.
After 1978 the crater was completely filled by lava, in its center began to grow the slag cone.
In 1989-90 years the cone has almost covered the edges of the basic crater and has increased the height
of the volcano to 100-150 m. In the same years lava streams were actively covering the slopes of the volcano
from a topmost.
They occupied the lowerings of the volcanic-tectonic trenches and went down to the bottom as the heated
avalanches of mud streams.
The last, strongest eruption of a topmost crater of the Kluchevskoy volcano
with its collateral breaks was observed from 1978 till 1993.
The erruptions of the volcano are proceeding nowadays.
The sources of its power (the magmatic centers) multistage and are situated at the different levels on depth,
from the ground surface presumably from the first up to 70-100 kms.
Makeups of products are alumina and magnesia basalts.
Itinerary:
Day 1.
Arrival to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy. Meeting with representatives of "FOCUS TRAVEL" at the airport.
Accomodation at resort in Paratunskaya zone. Aquaintance. Preporation for the rout, rest. Night's lodging (hotel).
Day 2.
Leaving by car to the settlment Kosyrevsk. Night's lodging (tents).
Day 3.
Approaching to the hill Kopyto (3 hours). Dinner. Hiking. Crossing the stream Barany,
the river Studyonaya. Night's lodging (tents).
Day 4.
Coming to the pass between volcanos Kluchevskoy and Ploskaya Blyzhnaya (2900 m).
Camping. Night's lodging (tents).
Day 5.
Acclimatization. Approaching to the foot of the Ploskaya Blyzhnaya volcano (5-6 hours).
Night's lodging (tents).
Day 6.
Reserved day (rest).
Day 7.
Climbing of the Kluchevskoy volcano. Night's lodging (tents).
Day 8.
Reserved day in the case of bad weather. Rest.
Day 9.
Breakfast. Crossing of Erman glasier. Leaving to the settlment Kosyrevsk by car.
Night's lodging (tents).
Day 10.
Leaving from Kosyrevsk to Elisovo. Accommodation at a resort in Paratynskaya zone.
Bathing at a pool, rest. Night's lodging (hotel).
Day 11.
Free day. Night's lodging (hotel).
Day 12.
Breakfast, leaving for airport.
The price includes:

acommodation, equipment (tents, sleping bags), alkohol, food (except during the route)

Recommendations for the route::
This route does not require special travel skills, but it contains many natural obstacles. .
It is not recommended for the persons being in need of medical treatment and constant medical observation.
List of the recommended equipment: :
1. Footwear: light trekking boots and gaiters are good for these routes. It is desirable to have Gore-Tex boots, or well impregnated leather boots. High hip-boots are good too.
2. Sleeping-bag + rug (it's desirable)
3. Personal crockery (travel mug, bowl, spoon, fork)
4. Folding knife
5. Personal hygiene items
6. Clothing: field dress - trousers weatherproof jacket (made of thick cloth -light tarpaulin, moisture- wind-proof cloth and so on) is preferable, because it is ventilated,
7. Moisture- wind-proof dress made of cloth like Gore-Tex or its analogues.
8. Underwear (thin flis or wool)
9. Trousers made of flis (wool)
10. Warm jacket made of flis (sweater)
11. Woolen (flis) cap
12. Warm gloves moisture-wind-proof mittens (Gore-tex overmittens)

13. Socks: thin - 2 pairs, warm - 2 pairs (if you are in boots - 3 pairs). It's optimal to have socks made of wool and synthetic, "terry type", as they don't rub sore feet so much.

Comments::
1. During the trip tourists carry their personal clothes+food and equipment
(tents, cooking ware, petrol).
2. On the route guides ensure the work of the primus-stove, camp-fire and helps cooking.
